In 2010, the Coalition is celebrating our 25th Anniversary.  For 11 years running, we've set aside a day to take seven boat-loads of kids from youth shelters and group homes in western Montana on a whitewater rafting trip through Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork, connecting many of them to the river for the very first time.  Our annual Affinity Float will give nearly 50 children a full day spent rafting the river this July.

The float is a fantastic way to give Montana kids the chance to get out, enjoy their surroundings, and help make the Clark Fork River and its irreplaceable waters a bigger part of their lives.  In fact, our hope is that the experience sparks a broader understanding of the river and its surrounding ecosystem.  The experience really helps tomorrow's leaders "see" the river for the first time, and hopefully, also cultivates a desire to preserve and protect the watershed.

Thanks to the generous support of ROW and other sponsors, many disadvantaged children in western Montana are able to experience a rafting trip on the Clark Fork.  We are able to host this annual event because generous friends of the Clark Fork Coalition  choose to sponsor either one child for $150 or a boat-load of children for $650.  If you are interested in sponsoring a child on his or her first trip down the Clark Fork River, please contact Stacy at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
