It’s not every day a dam gets dismantled. Yet that is exactly what friends of the Clark Fork will witness this year when the Milltown Reservoir Superfund cleanup hits the dam removal stage. Which is why the Coalition commissioned Missoula artist Monte Dolack to create a print that captures this moment, as a still reservoir transitions into a free-flowing confluence of two of Montana’s mightiest rivers. The end result of this artistic project—a Dolack print—limited edition run, with 250 available for purchase. After all, once the dam is gone, the only reminders we will have of this rich piece of Montana history will be photos and this limited edition print.
